Alaska Integrated Ecosystem Model report available

The report detailing results of Phase I of the Alaska Integrated Ecosystem Model (AIEM) is now available. Phase I (2010-2011) produced a conceptual framework for linking three models of ecosystem processes in Alaska – ALFRESCO, TEM, and GIPL. The Alaska Yukon River Basin was used as the study area. The report describes the results of proof-of-concept exercise where the ALFRESCO output provided information about fire occurrence and severity to TEM, and TEM output provided information on surface vegetation and organic layer properties to GIPL, which was incorporated into permafrost projections.
