Science Plan

The Arctic LCC’s Draft Strategic Science Plan (Plan) is available for download and public review. The Plan provides overall direction for a program of work for a ten-year period, but retains enough flexibility to undertake diverse activities without requiring frequent revision. The Plan identifies three general areas of activity:

  • Describe and forecast ecosystem change
  • Provide information to meet near-term management needs
  • Improve data integration and management

Within the first category, the Plan outlines a program that includes long-term monitoring, interdisciplinary research, and modeling of ecosystem response to climate change. The Plan also reviews the mission and scope of the Arctic LCC, science planning process, and partnership opportunities.
